Before you rely on a Check Gaming Zone recommendation, you should know exactly what sits behind it. This page lays that out, starting with a quick summary and then going into detail.
The Short Version
- We compare products using manufacturer specs, independent measurements and owner feedback.
- We do not bench-test or physically test any products ourselves.
- AI helps with research and drafting; an editor verifies every number against its source.
- We earn affiliate commissions, but they never affect rankings or inclusion.
- We update articles when products, firmware, drivers or prices change.
Our Sources in Detail
Manufacturer information. Official spec sheets, manuals and support pages give us the starting facts: a graphics card’s memory and power requirements, a laptop’s GPU power range and ports, a monitor’s panel type and refresh rate, a headset’s driver size and connection options.
Independent measurements. Specs alone rarely tell the whole story. We compare data from hardware review sites, laptop review outlets, display measurement labs and audio measurement databases: graphics card frame rates and noise levels, laptop keyboard-deck temperatures and battery runtimes, monitor response times and brightness, and headset frequency response curves.
Owner feedback. Verified-purchase reviews, forums and long-term owner reports tell us what happens after months of daily use: headset ear pads flaking, laptop hinges loosening, monitor dead pixels, or controller stick drift.
No In-House Lab
Check Gaming Zone does not run its own lab, and we don’t publish hands-on test results. When we mention a temperature, frame rate or latency figure, it comes from a published outside source, and we describe it that way.
What Gets a Product Into Our Guides
- Gaming laptops: GPU power limit and cooling capacity, display quality, and how well performance holds up during long gaming sessions according to review outlet data.
- Gaming monitors: response time and overshoot data, HDR capability backed by measurements rather than marketing labels, and stand adjustability.
- Graphics cards: value at a given resolution, power and size requirements, and cooler noise reports.
- Headsets and gear: sound and microphone quality evidence, comfort, wireless range and battery claims checked against independent data, and durability patterns in owner reports.
- Accessories: compatibility, build quality and value for money.
How AI Is Involved
We use AI tools to speed up research and produce drafts. Every published spec, price tier and measurement is then checked by an editor against the original source. Nothing unverified gets published.
Updates
We re-check guides when new models launch, when firmware or drivers change behavior, when prices shift noticeably, and when readers send in reports. Updated articles carry a revision date.
Affiliate Disclosure
